When 500 KB helps
Use it for small files with readable images
A 500 KB target is useful when a short PDF includes a scan, ID image, receipt, or supporting photo and the upload limit is still small. It is not a reason to include unrelated pages.
500 KB can work for small document uploads that need more room than 300 KB but still require a compact file. Use it when the upload workflow shows that limit, then review image quality before export.

Image quality
Photos can look acceptable before compression and soft after preparation. Review edges, names, numbers, and stamps before clean export, especially when the document contains camera images.
Page cleanup
Use page review to remove extra pages and rotate pages where supported. If you need to add a photo, add only the image that belongs in the same PDF and check the prepared file size afterward.
Target choice
If the upload allows 2 MB or 4 MB, a larger target may produce a clearer file. Smaller is not always better when readability is part of the upload task.
