Guide

How Prepare works

Choose the portal, size, and options before you prepare the next result.

Starts from Originals Choose portal and size Review before clean export

What Prepare is

Prepare creates the next result for review

Prepare is not clean export yet. It creates the next result so you can review it in Versions before deciding on the final clean copy.

From Originals, you can tap the file row to open it, or use the row menu and choose Prepare for portal.

Step 1

Start from Originals

Open Prepare from the original file you imported or scanned, not from a result that is already in Versions. You can tap the file row to open that document screen first, or use the row menu if you want to jump straight to Prepare for portal.

Choose GENERAL, IRCC, or CEAC before you create the next result.

Step 2

Choose GENERAL, IRCC, or CEAC

  • GENERAL is for exact-size targets when you only know the upload limit.
  • IRCC is the portal-aware path with 2 MB, 3 MB, and 4 MB choices.
  • CEAC is the conservative 2 MB, compatibility-first path.

Pick the size that matches the real upload limit.

Step 3

Pick the size target

After you choose the portal, select the size that matches the actual upload you are dealing with.

Choose the portal first, then open Size limit. More options stays below it and shows the three main toggles only when the upload needs extra settings.

Step 4

Adjust options only when needed

In GENERAL, start with the portal and Size limit first. Then open More options only when the document or portal really needs something extra. The three main toggles stay below the portal and size controls.

Step 5

Review the prepared result

Check size, readability, warnings, and compatibility in Versions before deciding whether this result is ready for clean export.

Step 6

Clean export when ready

Clean export is the final copy ready to save, share, or submit. It comes after review, not before it.

PDF Ready SAFE-MODE screen for a file that should stay as the original
If the file should stay untouched, PDF Ready keeps the original path with a warning.

SAFE-MODE edge case

Keep the original path for no-touch files

If the file is signed, XFA, or protected, PDF Ready warns you and keeps the original path instead of forcing a transformed result.

Disclaimer: Prepare does not guarantee final acceptance. Portal rules can still reject a file.

Disclaimer: Some signed, XFA, or protected files may need the original path instead of a transformed result.
