IRCC portal
IRCC is not a single upload destination. The per-file limit depends on the specific account or portal where you will upload the document. PDF Ready asks where you will upload it so it can help you choose the right target.
What this profile is for
- Best for supporting documents such as scans, statements, and letters uploaded through IRCC-related flows.
- Not for dynamic XFA forms or PDFs whose digital signature must remain valid.
IRCC: the limit depends on the portal
- IRCC Portal: 2 MB per file.
- IRCC secure account: 4 MB per file.
- Permanent Residence Portal: 4 MB per file.
- Online citizenship application: 2 MB per file.
- Asylum portal: 4 MB per file.
How to choose it in PDF Ready
- IRCC Portal (2 MB): use it if you will upload to IRCC Portal, or if you still do not know the exact flow.
- 3 MB (recommended balance): this is a PDF Ready intermediate preset for a bit more margin without jumping straight to 4 MB. It is not an official IRCC portal limit.
- IRCC secure account / PR Portal (4 MB): use it only when your actual destination allows 4 MB.
- Not sure: start with 2 MB.
Common problems
- The document is too large for the portal limit.
- A scanned PDF becomes unreadable after aggressive compression.
- You need a portal-ready copy without guessing which profile or extra option to try first.
How PDF Ready helps
- Focuses on file size and readability together, not just raw compression.
- Helps you prepare an on-device copy before uploading to IRCC-related flows.
- If you are unsure about size, OCR, or PDF/A-2b, start with the target-size guide and use the 2 MB guide only when your actual IRCC flow still forces a tighter limit.
