IRCC file size limits depend on the account

There is no single IRCC upload size limit. The real per-file limit depends on the account or portal where you will upload the document, so the safer target depends on the exact flow.

Common IRCC upload limits

• IRCC Portal: 2 MB per file.
• IRCC secure account: 4 MB per file.
• Online citizenship application: 2 MB per file.
• Asylum portal: 4 MB per file.
• Permanent Residence Portal: 4 MB per file.

What this means in practice

• Do not assume there is one single "IRCC size limit" for every upload.
• If you do not know the exact flow yet, start with 2 MB.
• 3 MB in PDF Ready is an intermediate preset for a bit more margin, not an official IRCC portal limit.
• Move to 4 MB only when your real destination clearly allows 4 MB.
